Medical Director

Diane Lusas

MD, FAPWCA

Dr. Lusas trained in the general surgery residency program at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Lusas accepted the position of Medical Director at Integrated Wound Care in 2017. She has since grown the position to oversee over 100 providers across 19 states, where she is licensed.

Dr. Lusas has an acute expertise in wound care services to skilled nursing facilities, treating patients with a wide variety of wounds including pressure, diabetic, traumatic, surgical, vascular, and burns, as well performing minor bedside procedures. Dr. Lusas travels frequently to develop wound care programs in skilled nursing facilities, educate staff, and train providers. She often collaborates with our physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to offer guidance regarding difficult wound cases. In addition to clinical duties, Dr. Lusas maintains oversight of the company’s internal audit team and compliance initiatives. She has dedicated her career to advancing wound care in the long-term care environment, promoting improved quality of life and access to care for patients. In addition to being continuously active in a clinical environment, Dr. Lusas is responsible to approve and assess all new product introduction focused on augmenting patient healing.  

Dr. Lusas is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association, through which she maintains her Physician Certification in Wound Care, and an active member of the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care. She has been consulted as an expert witness in multiple wound related legal cases. Prior to training in general surgery at Yale New Haven Hospital and becoming a Wound Care Specialist, she attended New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY for medical school, graduating in 2011. She earned a BS in Biochemistry from Northeastern University in Boston MA, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2007. She grew up in Connecticut and currently resides in Nashville, TN.
